We annually mark the 10th anniversary of 9/11 with a tribute to those who sacrificed their lives. We honor them by giving back in our own communities, to make life and living better for our neighbors. A-OK! Weekend, Acts of Kindness, occurs on the weekend nearest 9/11.
The 2012 weekend is set for September 8-9. This will be the third such observance. We are planning clean-up projects, painting assignments, childrens’ activities and more — all across metro Syracuse.
When 9/11 happened in 2001, we all wanted to do something. Gather that spirit and come help. Talk to friends or others in a group or religious organization to which you belong – -plan to be a part of making a difference.
