
We’re making news! WTB has caught the imagination of editors at many national and regional publications as well as CNN and local broadcast outlets.
Our co-founder, Betsy Wiggins, was featured nationally in the Spring 2006 issue of Agnes Scott, The Magazine, a publication of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Ga. The writer chronicles the start and development of WTB. The author quotes Betsy as saying co-founding WTB "is one of the most gratifying things I've done in my life...It has changed the way I look at the community and the world." She is an alumna of Agnes Scott College.
CNN International: As part of its second year anniversary coverage of the tragedies of September 11, CNN International sent a crew to Syracuse and produced a news segments about WTB and its impact on Muslim women.

The New York Times ran an article in March, 2003, about our unique organization. Here's one important quote: “We're a little microcosm of Syracuse, N.Y., of the United States, of the world…If we can't talk honestly in our own little group, if we can't work together to make a difference, what hope is there?"
Family Circle: The inspiration piece, "Full Circle" in the November, 2003 issue features an interview with WTB co-founder Betsy Wiggins who shares her gratitude for the women of WTB:"Through the group, I’ve learned what a single person can do. If I hadn’t made that first call, I might have gone on feeling helpless and afraid. But I did call, and the result is that I’ve made friends for life, and together we are making a difference"
Women’s Faith & Spirit: The 20-year friendship between Syracusans Magda Bayoumi (a Muslim and WTB Council Member) and Mary Giegengack-Jureller (a Roman Catholic) is the subject of a four-page feature in the Fall, 2003 issue. Mary and Magda recount the beginnings of WTB and their involvement in it. The story closes with the quote in large type on this page.
Syracuse broadcast outlets News 10 Now, the regional cable news operation, and WTVH-TV (CBS affiliate) have covered our activities regularly.
The Post-Standard has followed the progress of WTB since its inception running numerous articles covering our beginnings, progress and meetings.
WCNY-TV’s Religion Matters and Access featured WTB on their programs during 2002 and WTB was discussed on Central Issues in August, 2003.WAER-FM has featured several stories about WTB dating back to its beginnings.Straight to the Source on Time Warner Cable also featured in-depth interviews with WTB leaders.
